All About Me

I’m 41 & have been married for almost 25 years to my high school sweetheart. We are soulmates and I love him with every square inch of my being. We have 2 children, Brooke, 23, and Cain, 20. They, along with the rest of my family and friends, mean EVERYTHING to me.

I am a Christian. I love my God and look forward to meeting him one day (but not any time soon!). ;)

I love the colors green & orange, the ocean, the mountains, & being in the woods. I listen to NPR when I cook and clean, and sing horribly with songs on the radio. :) I read a lot, love my subscriptions to Birds & Blooms, Country, Southern Living, & Popular Photography, and would be a full-time student if I could afford it.

I’ve been taking photographs since I was 8 when my parents bought me my first camera for Christmas: a Kodak 110. I loved that camera and took it with me everywhere I went. I am CRAZY about photography. I loved my Polaroid that allowed instant gratification, and began to get serious when I got my first 35mm: a Pentax that I wish I still had. :( I now use a Canon 7D, a Canon 30D, both of which I love very much. I also carry a Panasonic Lumix FZ35 with me at ALL times. It never leaves my side.

I love shooting nature. I prefer butterflies, birds, and well, just anything that catches my eye. I also love macro photography.

I love the Lord and thank him daily for the blessings that I receive. :)

  2. Rachel,

Don’t really know how I happened across your site but am of the opinion that nothing in this life happens by chance. I’ve become a fan.

Your eye is a gift; anyone can master the mechanics of photography but it takes insite to capture a moment…something that you do very well.

We have much in common…so much in fact that it’ kind of scary…who would have thought; a mirror, right up the road. lol

Take care and keep doing what you’re doing.

  3. How could you not be the love of your husband’s life? You were high school sweethearts. That’s quite an accomplishment these days.

I accidently ran across your website, and have enjoyed reading your blog.

    Have a good day.
