Today Marshall and I got up early and had breakfast at Cracker Barrel in Fort Payne, then headed to Guntersville to pick up our camper. We decided to make a day of it, and boy, what a great day we had. :)
We visited a few of the local shops in Guntersville and then decided to drive to Boaz to all of the outlet malls there. Apparently we were about 10-15 years too late though, as most of them have closed down. Boaz was the place to shop back in the 80’s & 90’s, but neither of us had ever gone. Oh well, we missed out on that one. ;)
From there we headed over to Cathedral Caverns, which is what you see in the above photo. Neither of us had been there either and WOW was it spectacular. If you live near northeast Alabama then you should go there and visit. It’s just amazing, and SO large. Here’s their link: Cathedral Caverns. The tour took almost two hours. It was great, and it was SO cool inside the cave. It felt wonderful to get out of the miserable heat for a little while. :)
We ate supper and then headed back to the campground. We just relaxed and plan on pulling the camper home in the morning.
Today was a great day. Hope yours was, too.
