Cataloochee Valley

This old home, built in 1903, is in the Cataloochee Valley, which is part of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This was our first visit there and it is absolutely beautiful there. Oh, and if you look very closely, and maybe with a magnifying glass, you can see my Ugly Doll, Chuckacanuka, sitting on the front porch.

There are so many Pipevine Swallowtails here that I thought I had died and gone to Heaven. I couldn’t believe how many there were. They are ALL over the place here. I’ll post some pictures of them over the next few days. Aren’t you excited? ;)

Tonight we went to see the drama, Unto These Hills, which tells about the Cherokee Nation, and the struggles that they have been through. It’s an excellent drama and if you’re ever vacationing in Cherokee I’d recommend you see it.

We had a great time together today. Have I mentioned I love Cherokee? :)
