“Christmas–that magic blanket that wraps itself about us, that something so intangible that it is like a fragrance. It may weave a spell of nostalgia. Christmas may be a day of feasting, or of prayer, but always it will be a day of remembrance–a day in which we think of everything we have ever loved.” ~ Augusta E. Rundell
I have a new nephew. He’s my nephew’s son, actually…ok, well Marshall’s nephew, but still. :) This is how he was holding his hands when he slept. How precious is that?
We have had an absolutely FANTASTIC time today. Marshall left early to go up to his parents to try and get some hunting done before the rain moved in (he didn’t make it though). Cain went to celebrate Christmas Eve with Ashley’s parents, and I just hung out here at home.
When Brooke and Cain got home we drove over to see my Mom and to give her her gifts for Christmas. She was very happy to see us. We are, once again, working on our relationship. It was great seeing her.
We headed up the mountain to Marshall’s parents house and we were SO ready for our Shaggy Santa Christmas. Everyone was there and the house was so crowded (which I love) and just perfectly wonderful. We had a great time opening gifts but it all went by too quickly (as per usual).
We are home now, after a pretty scary drive home. The wind is whipping around like crazy and limbs were on the road (had to dodge a few) and one rather large one fell off right in front of us.
Anyway, we’re all ready to get in bed and see what Santa brings.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
